How to stay on track over Christmas

As the holiday season approaches, many of us may find ourselves struggling to stay on track with our weight loss goals. The temptations of delicious holiday treats and indulgent meals can be overwhelming, and it can be easy to fall off the wagon and indulge in too many sweets and treats.

But fear not! It is possible to enjoy the holiday season and still stay on track with your weight loss goals. Here are some tips to help you stay on track over the Christmas season:

Plan ahead: Before the holiday season begins, take some time to plan out your meals and snacks. This will help you stay organized and avoid making impulsive food choices that may derail your weight loss efforts.

Don't skip meals: It can be tempting to skip meals in order to save up calories for a big holiday feast, but this is actually a counterproductive strategy. Skipping meals can lead to overeating later on, as well as a slower metabolism. Instead, try to stick to your regular meal schedule and make healthy choices at each meal.

Focus on portion control: It's okay to indulge in your favourite holiday treats, but be sure to do so in moderation. Use smaller plates and bowls to help control portion sizes, and be mindful of how much you are eating.

Stay active: The holiday season can be a busy time, but it's important to make time for physical activity. Exercise can help boost your metabolism and burn off some of those extra calories. Plus, it can help reduce stress and improve your mood.

Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water is important for weight loss, and it can also help you feel full and satisfied. Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day, and avoid sugary drinks that can add extra calories to your diet.

By following these tips, you can enjoy the holiday season without sacrificing your weight loss goals. Remember to be patient with yourself and stay consistent with your healthy habits.

And don't worry if you do end up over indulging one day. A day or two isn't going to make a huge difference to your overall goal - it's one day out of 365 after all!

So enjoy yourself, and Merry Christmas!
