My story

For as long as I can remember I have loved sport. Football and athletics were my favourite sports at school, and as I got older I added squash and golf to that list. However, as with a lot of teenagers, sport became a less prominent part of my life due to the distractions at that age and by my late teens/early twenties my only exercise was walking ten minutes to work each day!

To combat this I did what many people do: I joined a gym. I went occasionally, and enjoyed it when I did, but after working long hours I rarely had the motivation to go. Or I was too tired. Or there was a James Bond film on TV that night. So I continued to give the gym my money each month while I sat at home eating crisps.

It was in 2010 that I decided I was going to do something about this sorry state of affairs. My girlfriend and I joined a gym together (I had long since cancelled my previous membership!). Between us we found the motivation to go every weekend, and occasionally during the week as well.

In 2012 we bought our first house together and found we had “storage area” which turned out to be a perfect place for a home gym. Using this, I got into a routine of working out BEFORE work, and as well as eating more healthily, I found I looked better and had more energy than I’d had in years.

My career, however, was stagnating. I was in the same sales job I’d been in for the past seven years, with no sign of a promotion or progression. I began to hate going to work, which is not a nice way to feel.

In late 2013, after much thought and deliberation, I made the decision to quit my job and pursue a career in fitness. My thinking being: I like training and I like helping people, why not combine the two? Plus, I’ve managed to change my life, I want to help others do the same with theirs.

By late 2014 I was qualified, and Jeff Beck Personal Training was born.

So, here I am! My aim is simple: I want to help you improve your life through fitness. Whether you haven’t exercised in years or if you are already in shape but want to take the next step, I am here for you.
